Powered by TExT - Text Elements by Task Dr. Elfrieda Hiebert's TExT model of text difficulty is the innovative, research-based foundation of the QuickReads family of products. Click here to learn more

Quarter-Hour

Just 15 minutes a day!
The QReads instructional routine takes just 15 minutes every day. You can supplement your regular intervention program to help those students struggling most with reading.

Quantity

Students read every day
Struggling students need to read passages more than once. In QReads, students read a passage three times to improve fluency and comprehension. Struggling readers are often lacking critical vocabulary and background knowledge QReads helps systematically build both while they become fluent readers.

Step One Students read a QReads passage to themselves, either aloud or silently, at their own pace. They build on their prior knowledge and work on remembering the main idea of the passage.

Step Two Students then hear the same passage modeled by a fluent reader. Listening to someone read helps the student understand how a passage should sound.

Step Three Students read as much of the passage as they can in one minute. This allows for assessment of fluency and comprehension.

Features

Based on the same advanced Scientific Learning software that powers QuickReads Technology Edition, QReads Technology Edition creates a highly motivating learning environment that consistently builds student confidence and achievement by extending additional support to students individually and precisely when it is needed.

Whether in a general education, special education, ESL, Title 1, summer school, or after-school setting, your students will become independent, fluent readers with QReads Technology Edition.
